Rosie Olivia Millinery
Rosie launched her own millinery company creating unique head wear that is quirky, edgy and bang on trend in March 2011. From hats to fascinators and headbands, all her creations are handmade to ensure that clients get exactly what they are looking for whatever the occasion.
“I have always been creative even as a child and enjoy keeping up with the latest fashion trends; I just wasn’t sure which was the best way to channel my creativity. I studied decorative arts at Nottingham Trent University. I got the chance to gain some valuable work experience with Milliner Philip Treacy during my second year. I went on to specialise in textiles, printing and embroidery and for my final collection degree show, I produced a collection of hats.”
After graduating with a first in July 2010, Rosie moved to London and took a millinery course in Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design to really help develop her skills. She also worked for haute couture milliner Stephen Jones during London Fashion Week for a month and milliner Victoria Grant for three months.
Pacificstream worked with Rosie to help her with the early stages of setting up and establishing her business. She moved back home to Liverpool and set about creating a range of hats and fascinators before beginning the daunting task of promoting the company. This is when she got in touch with Pacificstream,
“They really helped to get my business ideas on track and apply for funding through Liverpool vision. I really valued the time and advice from them. I then took part in the Prince’s Trust Enterprise Program and after that it was a case of attending net working events and handing out business cards to try and get work seen by the public”
Just ten months on from graduation Rosie have gone from strength to strength with her own millinery company! Currently a small selection of her designs are on show at fashion designer Kirsty Doyle’s store in Liverpool One
Love, Faith and Hope
After graduating in 2007 from Manchester Metropolitan University with a 2:1 degree in Design and Art Direction, Dimitra Jordan moved to London in early 2008 where she worked within the licensing industry as a graphic and packaging designer. Her interest in packaging design allowed her to work part-time as a freelance packaging designer after moving back to Liverpool in 2009.
Since designing and selling ranges of Christmas cards during my final year at university Dimitra have always wanted to pursue this passion with her own greeting cards business, and in 2011 these ideas became a reality with the help and support of Pacificstream.
Dimitra’s three ranges were launched the end of May 2011 at the Progressive Greetings Live tradeshow in London, where the cards created a lot of buzz. Stamps and vintage packaging were the main inspirations behind the ranges, resulting in ranges that are bold, eye-catching and with a strong typographic style.
Her company is now well established and is marketing her cards to retailers. Her cards are for sale in Utility shops in Liverpool.

HappyCry
Happycry is a small web design & branding studio based in Liverpool, founded by graduate friends Paul Swindell and Will McClellan. They help you to create loveable design and usable websites.
Questioning the meaning behind the name “Happycry”, Paul and Will explain “…by our own very high standards, our work has to look top–notch (this takes blood sweat & tears). It has to provoke emotion. It has to tread the lines of right and wrong – This is how you make something special”.
It’s not all about looking good though (the design, not us!). Our websites are super simple to use. Do we do SEO? Well yes, but that’s never an option, it comes as standard. We don’t focus on search–engine robots though. We focus on your users, the people (the humans!) that will be using your wonderful website. They’re what it’s all about.
If it sounds like we’re on the same wavelength, get in touch! We love the challenge of a new project…!!!
You can find more information by having a look at their website www.happycry.co.uk, by emailing them at hello@happycry.co.uk or giving them a call on 0151 909 4007
